Halle Berry's messy split from Gabriel Aubry continues as she reportedly tries to cut child support to her ex.
The Extant actress seeks to reduce her monthly payments from about $16,000 to $3,800, according to TMZ.
But Aubry, the father of her 6-year-old daughter Nahla, claims he needs the money because he was unable to book modeling jobs after he brawled with Berry's current husband, Olivier Martinez, on Thanksgiving 2012.
Berry, 48, alleges that Aubry, 39, uses the child support for his own fitness, clothing, electronics, car and health insurance, TMZ reports.
"She does feel that he is abusing the system and taking advantage of her," a source close to Martinez tells PEOPLE of Berry. "Halle does work hard for her money, and it's not easy for her to juggle the two kids with her work schedule. It's understandable that she feels Gabriel should be able to make enough money to support Nahla."
The Oscar winner and Aubry, who never married, broke up in 2010 after four years together, leading to the lengthy custody battle over Nahla. Berry and French actor Martinez, 48, wed in July 2013, welcoming son Maceo-Robert that October.
