For a long time, the bob was the style du jour for the soccer mom set, but a recent wave of cool girls (like Rose Byrne, Jourdan Dunn, and Sasha Luss), as well as a flurry of fall campaigns, has made the classic cut feel fresh again. Add to that list Emma Stone at theVenice International Film Festival and you’ve got yourself a solid, statement-making trend. While the lead actress in Birdman arrived on last night’s red carpet with tousled waves and side-swept bangs, we’re digging her blunt, straight strands spotted along the canals today. Though we aren’t the biggest proponents of a blow-out, we think we could DIY the “done” look (as opposed to the messy bed-head style we’ve adopted all summer long) if we hacked off a few inches. What can we say, we’ve never been more inspired to say good-bye to the split ends, fire up our flatirons, and usher in a sleek and polished new season.
