Even in the face of seemingly impossible odds, Diem Brown is fighting.
The MTV reality star, 32, is in a New York City hospital as her brutal war with cancer rages on.
Friends and family have rallied to her bedside, and on Tuesday her friend Alicia Quarles shared an Instagram photo of "Team Diem."
"Toasting the strongest girl we know: #diemstrong #friendsarefamily" she captioned the photo.
Brown, who rose to fame on MTV's Real World/Road Rules Challenge, has openly chronicled her nearly 10-year battle with cancer, which began when she was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer at 23. Then in 2012, she faced the disease again.
But her most devastating diagnosis came in October, when she learned that the cancer that had been found in her stomach and colon in August had spread to her liver and lymph nodes.
"It's important to me to share the 'realness' of my journey," the candid star, who chronicled her fight in a blog for PEOPLE.com, said in September. "It's okay to admit that at times it's hard, that it can be tough."
